Transportation Tips for The Average Joe

Should You Give Tips When Using Ridesharing Apps?

With the use of ridesharing services, thousands of people were able to get to and from places. These ridesharing services are easily accessible right through our smart phones, making it very convenient to use. Making payments for the trip using credit card from your device is relatively a new concept. It is somewhat hard to imagine on the other hand to live without on-app payments. The question now that ridesharing users do is, whether or not they should tip their ride.

Many who are hailing a ride via this app think of this. We’ve been tipping waitresses, valets, baristas and taxi drivers so why not do it on ridesharing drivers?

When talking about the concept of ridesharing and tipping at the same time, many commuters get confused. Most do not understand how the payment process works. The truth is, people don’t have much idea with the payment procedures on the ridesharing companies. As a result, it’s worth to mention that payment procedures takes place right in the app. With this in mind, passengers often assume that the tip is already included in their fare price. However, others do not have ideas that they’re allowed to tip. It is true that tips are not a mandatory from the passengers but it’s welcome and truth is, it has the ability of making or breaking the driver’s income.

But some of the ridesharing apps didn’t indicate their policy for tips. And this is where customer’s confusion sets in. People don’t know if the driver is expecting a tip as the service charge is included already and the site isn’t mentioning to tip.

It’s worth to mention as well that most think that tip is calculated already in their final bill as what mentioned earlier. Commuters think that some of their bill is for the tip, that it’ll go to the driver directly. There are a number of real life exchanges between the drivers and passengers just underscore this argument that many is confused to whether the matter of tipping included, appropriate or required. As you are about to pay for your ride, you must clarify your final bill and to what comes with it.

Regardless, these drivers are real professional and will take no hard feelings in case you don’t give any, so whether you tip or not, that won’t be an issue. Well of course, it makes them feel glad if you do. These ridesharing apps can give you a more convenient trip to and from your desired destination while staying away from traffics as these drivers are well aware of the road and know the fastest route to get to wherever you want to be.
